Benjamin Dutreux

A committed sailor and rising star of the Vendée Globe, Benjamin Dutreux embodies a new generation of skippers who combine performance, humility and conviction. 4CAD Group is proud to support him in his project, with his sights set on the 2028 Vendée Globe.

Born in 1990 in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, Benjamin grew up in the Vendée, not far from the coastline that would shape his destiny. From childhood, he developed a passion for the sea and competition, which he put into practice by joining sailing-focused sports-study programmes and then embarking on the professional circuit.

After making his debut in the Mini 6.50 and Figaro classes, he rose to the top echelons of offshore racing through tenacity and talent. In 2020, he achieved a remarkable feat in his very first Vendée Globe, finishing 9th aboard one of the oldest boats in the fleet. This performance was hailed by the entire sailing community as a testament to his discipline and fighting spirit.

But Benjamin Dutreux is not just a sailor: he is also a man committed to the environment, who places the preservation of the oceans at the heart of his project. With his 4CAD Sailing Team, he sails with a dual ambition: sporting and environmentally responsible.

In 2024, he competed in the Vendée Globe for the second time in an IMOCA and secured a second top-10 finish, once again achieving his initial goal.
