How to Get Operators, Managers, and Teams On Board with the Digital Transformation of the Shop Floor

Deploying an MES is, above all, a people-centered project. While technology is at the heart of the digital transformation of the shop floor, it is the buy-in of the teams (operators, team leaders, managers) that determines the project’s success or failure.

Yet, on the ground, there are many obstacles: fear of surveillance, a loss of bearings, silent or vocal resistance, fear of change, and fear of the future. How can we anticipate these obstacles? How can we turn skeptics into champions of change?

In this interactive workshop, co-facilitated with our partner Whyn, we’ll draw on real-life situations encountered during Aquiweb deployments to identify together the key factors that make a difference.

During this workshop, led by Cyril Gras and Cyprien Bel, Madjid MEZIANI will share particularly practical insights on the human aspect of supporting a workshop digitization project.

Beyond the technical aspects, one of the major challenges at Guinot was shifting work habits toward a fully digitized environment. Team buy-in was facilitated by a pragmatic approach focused on real-world benefits: eliminating manual data re-entry, simplifying access to information, digitizing quality documentation, and reducing non-value-added administrative tasks. This approach led to a high level of system adoption among operators while strengthening the teams’ autonomy.

On the agenda:

  • Why MES Projects Fail (Rarely for Technical Reasons)
  • The Key Role of the Front-Line Manager as a Driver of Buy-In
  • The Critical Stages Where the Team Can Lose Momentum and How to Ensure Success
  • Best Practices for Front-Line Engagement: Who to Involve, When, and How
  • How to Measure and Sustain Adoption Over the Long Term, Well Beyond Go-Live
